Angela Collinson Nurse Practitioner Angela Collinson has been a RN for 33 years (specializing in the care of women and children for 30 years), and a Nurse Practitioner for 15 years. Education/Certifications include: Bachelor of Science in Nursing, Mercy College of Detroit (1975). Master's Degree in Nursing, Parenting and Families from Wayne State University (1992). Certified Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (1994). International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (1988) Certified Inpatient Obstetric Nurse (1987) First Line Therapy Health Care Provider (2005). Applying Functional Medicine in Clinical Medicine (2007) NP Collinson is a member of the Academy of Anti-Aging Medicine and has completed extensive course work in Functional (nutritional) medicine and anti aging medicine. As an NP, Ms. Collinson provides health care including gynecological examination/procedures, well and sick child examinations, treatment of acute and chronic illnesses. NP's are licensed to diagnose, treat and write prescriptions in the state of Michigan. Nurse practitioners provide an emphasis on promotion of health and prevention of illness. Ms. Collinson has special interests in the care of women and children, nutrition/lifestyle management and menopause including prescription of bio-identical hormones. The practice of Functional Medicine and Age Management Medicine provides an excellent fit with the Nurse Practitioner educational background and philosophy which emphasizes promotion of health and prevention of disease. NP Collinson enjoys the collaborative practice with her physician partners, and providing the added educational component to the care of patients at St John Center for Wellness.
